THE FILM EDITOR
Film will always be my first love – especially editing, because that's where the film is made.  The editor's chair is the closest to the audience you can possibly sit.  We speak with them in a language of images and sounds that helps us slip past their usual walls and establish a dialog with their deepest, inner-most selves.
If that sounds dramatic, it's because I believe it is.  To me, it's a sacred thing.  And being granted that level of intimacy deserves of us to speak authentically with it.  When we do, we help strengthen the things that connect us and transcend that which seems to divide us.
As an Editor, it's my great privilege to help filmmakers articulate their stories and bring them to life.  I bring a writer's sensibility to my work, shaping scenes and stories to capture an audience and carry them through even the most challenging material.  I enjoy working with the fine details of sound, picture and graphics to support the work and remove every bit of unnecessary friction from the experience.
I began my career writing and editing mostly short-form documentaries for Discovery Networks and other clients in Los Angeles.  I then spent several years working on the tech side of the entertainment industry, designing digital experiences for Hulu and Facebook.  I've since returned to post-production, and I'm currently assisting on several documentary projects around the San Francisco Bay Area.
You can find a selection of some of my earlier work below.
