THE CONTENT DESIGNER
As an art student and editor of my school newspaper, I grew up using the first digital cameras and Adobe Photoshop 1.0. When I wasn’t in the art lab, I’d be in the computer lab, coding websites and apps for fun. For me, creating was my passion and technology was the tool – and my earliest jobs combined the two.
But it wasn’t until I found myself at a little tech media startup called Hulu, and was tasked with building their help site, that I threw myself headfirst into learning the principles of User Experience Design.
I found that good product design works much the same as good art and writing – giving people the tools they need to enter into an unfamiliar new world and navigate complex experiences with ease and grace.
My work eventually brought me to Meta, where I was the lead Content Designer building new experiences for video, music, and podcasts. Though I’m no longer doing corporate work, I continue being interested in the role that technology, thoughtfully applied, can play in connecting people to new stories and experiences.
